How Commissions Work

This covers how the commission process works with international and local clients, and what happens when you've booked your slot.

I have a set number of commission slots available each month that indicate the amount of work I can take on in that time. You can check the number of slots remaining for the month on my Ko-fi page, or within the Services menu itself. Slots are refreshed on the first week of every month. I would also be updating an availability calendar semi-regularly, which you can refer to when reserving a slot for an upcoming month.

Ko-fi is a listing platform that uses Paypal to connect artists and professionals (like me) to commissioners (like you).

Commissioners pay to book a commission slot before the work begins. You will receive a confirmation e-mail from Ko‑fi once your payment is processed, and another one from me to let you know that I've been notified that there's work to be done.

This will be the method of payment for commissioners not based in the Philippines (International clients)

*Not currently residing in the Philippines

You can see my commission menu behind the Services tab on my Ko-fi page. You can look at example work per commission type with their price points and choose an option that suits you. You can also check out my homepage to see more work in general, and see what I've done so far.

  1. Before any payment, making a selection from my services menu will link you to a Google form where the details of your commission can be sent to me
  2. Wait for my reply via email within three (3) banking days. (Email will be from my sakuratower.studio email)
  3. I may send you a few more questions about your commission
  4. Once I confirm I am able to accept your commission, we can start with the work upon receipt of payment via the specific listing in Ko-fi

I'll only receive your request once you have completed this form and hit submit. Please do not pay until I've confirmed receipt or formally accepted the commission.

If a line of communication cannot be established within five (5) banking days of trying to make contact to accept your commission, the commission will be terminated and any payment already processed will be refunded.

You can check out my body of work on the homepage and see the listed services on my Services page.

  1. Please fill up the form on my contact page (choose "Availing a Service" in the Enquiry Type) which will have the details of your commission that will be sent to me
  2. Wait for my reply via email within three (3) banking days. (Email will be from my sakuratower.studio email)
  3. I may send you a few more questions about your commission
  4. Once I confirm I am able to accept your commission, I will send you a Cost Estimate for your virtual signature. We can then start with the work upon receipt of a downpayment via local payment options

I'll only receive your request once you have completed this form and hit submit.

If a line of communication cannot be established within five (5) banking days of trying to make contact to accept your commission, the commission will be terminated.

Ko-fi's description box is small, and I want you to be able to share with me all of the ideas you have in an organised way. A form lets me ask the questions I need and gives you space to go into details where it matters most, so we can make the commissioned work the best it can be.

To stay in contact with you and deliver the final piece of the service, I need to know how to reach you. I only need this information for this commission, and I won't pass it on or add to a mailing list or sell it anyone else. This will also make sure your email address will tie this form and your receipt to you.

You'll hear back from me to confirm the start of the commission within three (3) banking days of your payment being processed. When I accept your commission and read through your form, I'll give you a projected work time frame based on the complexity of the illustration and my current workload.

Art-related commissions

Cover design, detailed illustration, lettering

You will receive two to three concept sketches indicating placement of figures, elements and composition. You choose your favorite to be developed into the final work. Once you indicate your preference to me, I will spend the remaining time completing your commission.

Formatting commissions

I will send you the digital file for either ebook or print (or both) for proofing for you to review.

You will receive a copy of the work when it is almost complete called a proof. You may make a small revision at this time for no extra cost. I am unable to accomodate large changes at this time, unless the change is because of my own error in reading your request e.g. you described the character as having blue eyes, and I have given them green eyes. These are correctional changes and I will modify your image immediately.

If you have a new idea about what you want from your commission that is visually distinct from your initial request (such as a new pose or different background), please consider making a new commission.

At the completion of the commission, you will receive the pertinent files via a Google Drive link.
